Luke Mission Letters

  What's up everyone! These past two weeks have been absolutely crazy! I left Colorado for the CCM in Mexico City last Tuesday morning, and ever since then it's been non-stop! We were told when we got to the CCM that day that we wouldn't have a P-Day that week, (which was super lame), so I apologize if anyone has sent me something over the past two weeks and I haven't been able to respond.  Here's some highlights from the past two: The drive from the Mexico City airport to the CCM was one of the craziest experiences of my whole life. Mexico City is unlike anything I've ever seen; absolutely zero building ordinances, crazy traffic, and people walking EVERYWHERE. Including in front of moving vehicles. And in the middle of the road, against oncoming traffic. The only place where I have ever seen people drive worse was in Shanghai. The CCM is kinda like Mexico-Flavored BYU. Whats up! Ive just recieved my phone and theyre telling us to let you know that we got here safely. My p day is on thursday, but we wont have that until next week. Unfortunate, but its all good. Ill talk to you guys next week! Love you!! Elder Johnson  

  ¡Qué tal! What's Up! Some more highlights from Online MTC: I'm headed to México City on Tuesday morning, so I'm definitely excited for that! Not quite as excited to wake up at 3 am for an 8 am flight, though... My Spanish is still coming along pretty nicely! I had a sweet moment this week where I was reading a block of verses in El Libro de Mormón and I was able to understand all of them. Comprehension has definitely gotten a lot better My companion and I taught our first lesson entirely in Spanish this week. Did not go as well as I'd hoped, but it was definitely a learning experience Waking up is still rough, but not quite as bad as last week Got to get some sweet visits from my good friend Max Burkett, so shout out to him for hanging out AND a Happy Birthday today as well!   ¡Hola amigos y familia! Here's some highlights from week one of Online MTC: Learning Spanish has been way fun! I've been picking it up pretty quickly, but I can't wait to make it to Argentina and not understand a thing My favorite way to learn Spanish in my off time is writing down lines from songs and translating them to Español. So thank you Juice WRLD, Travis Scott, and Rex Orange County for helping me prepare to serve this week! Josh, Dax, and my Dad have been no match for me in 21 so far Zoom calls with the whole MTC are the most entertaining parts of my day, thanks to Elder Nelson and Elder Stapely from BYU 122 Ward hyping everyone up in the chat Waking up at 6:30 is so far the worst part of my day...
