Semana 26

Hola que tal a todos We had a great week, here's the highlights: I asked one of the Hermanos in our branch to rate how good my Castellano accent is on a scale of one to ten, and he rated it at about an 8. A super awesome compliment, but then when I asked him what it is that I need to work on, he said "Probably your accent"  One day Elder Yetter and I walked into our homie Andres's house to teach him, and his dad stopped us to say "YOU MEN OF GOD MAY ENTER MY HOUSE TO SPEAK THE WORDS OF THE LORD BUT I AM ALSO GOING TO SHARE ABOUT MY JOB" obviously we didn't have an issue with that so we started the lesson. Here's about how the lesson went: Elders: So Andres, the first covenant we make with our Heavenly Father is called Baptism. When we are baptized, we promise to... Andres's Dad: AT WORK TODAY I CUT DOWN MANY YERBA BUSHES Elders: ... we make a promise to always remember... Andres's Dad: I WILL BE GOING INTO WORK AGAIN ON MONDAY IN THE FIELD ...

Que tal mis chamigos We had a great week this week! This email's gonna be a recap of the past three-ish weeks because I definitely forgot to add a bunch of stuff in last week's email, so here's the highlights: On divisions a few weeks ago with the Zone Leaders, Elder Scott and I were teaching a lesson to a less active family in their ward. So as it turns out he was not, in fact, listening intently. Then he stood up and said "Hey guys wanna see my pet monkey?" Obviously we said yes, so he waddled into his house and brought out his monkey named Nicolás. Unfortunate that he is deaf but definitely super cool that he has a monkey A couple weeks ago, one of our famil...

Hola a todos mis queridos compinches, We've been travelling a  ton  recently so no email last week, but here's an update on what's been going on lately! Highlights: Elder Yetter had some shining Spanish moments these past couple weeks, he has officially dropped the B word in 4 lessons, and accidentally called a little girl retarded during a lesson with some inactive members. They unfortunately did not come to church after that but he's got an A for effort in my book Had Divisions with the Zone Leaders who live in Apóstoles, which was a nice 8 hour bus ride away from San Vicente. Highlight of Divisions was that I got to ride a bike the whole day, except I got stuck with the bike that belongs to the Elder from Buenos Aires who is 5'3. My knees were absolutely toast after that Our friend Romina committed to a baptismal date this week! We're super excited for her, so that'll be coming up within the next couple weeks The gym across the street played XOTOURLIFE ...
