Semana 21

Hola amigos y familia... en Martes?!? Qué?!? I've decided that there's never actually a regular week in the mission... I can't actually get into everything that happened this week, but just know that it was wild as per usual.  Here's my highlights: Got robbed on Tuesday last week!! It was my first time getting robbed so I was a little nervous  but luckily I didn't have to worry about it too much because someone just stole my wallet out of my pocket when I was sleeping on a bus. Luckily I didn't have anything too valuable stolen, but I am missing that $50 bucks worth of Pesos right about now New youth album dropped this week and it slaps, almost makes missing the Utopia drop a little bit easier Elder Yetter had his first Argentina-rainy-day experience this week and he was not a fan. "Friday sucked" - Elder Yetter, direct quote We had a lesson this week at the Chapel with a dude named Ruben, which in theory is usually a good idea. However, bro did not ...

¡Hola amigos y familia! Wild week, here's the highlights: Got McDonald's this week! I legitimately shed a tear of joy it was just so good. Nothing slaps harder than a Big Mac meal Parted ways with Elder Packer in Posadas, in our last moments together we almost got robbed by a dude who told me a pidgeon said I needed to repent Slept on the floor of a Chapel in Posadas so I could catch a bus to Resistencia at 2 am, would not recommend Picked up my new companion Elder Yetter in Resistencia on Tuesday, and he's pretty dope! Speaks just about zero Spanish, but at least he's excited to be here We got stuck in Posadas for about three days because there was a bus strike, so me and my brand new greenie (new missionary) got an unfortunate mini-vacation from missionary work for half of the week. I had to keep telling him "Don't worry, I promise we do more stuff than this every day" We stayed with some of the Elders in Posadas while we were waiting for the bus strik...

Semana 19

¡Hola que honda a todos! Transfers are this week and there's a bunch of changes coming up, but luckily I'm staying in San Vicente! This week was great, so here are my highlights: A little girl in our ward named Brenda won the award for quote of the week: "You know Elder Johnson, we have different words in Spanish that mean the same things that you say in English, they're just spelled differently and we say them better. But don't worry, I'm thinking of things to say that will make it easier for you to understand me!" Thank you Brenda, much appreciated You will all be pleased to know that after 12 weeks I'm finally getting a pillow I'm headed back down to Resistencia today to go pick up my new companion! It's been a good run with Elder Packer, but he's headed down to the province Corrientes to get eaten alive by Mosquitos To finish off the transfer, our friend Yennifer decided on a baptismal date! We're super excited for her and her dec...

Semana 18

¡Hola hola!  It's a beautiful day down here in San Vicente, after a few months of cold and rainy, we're making our way to Spring and it's finally getting nice outside! Here's the highlights of this week: One of the little kids in our branch asked me what day my birthday is, and he was beyond hyped to find out that our birthdays are on the same day! After some rapid-fire spanish and lots of jumping up and down he told me we were gonna have our birthday parties together. So if anyone wants to come to me and Alvaro's birthday party you're all invited I learned that people in Argentina have a zero-tolerance policy for cats walking into the house. Whenever a cat walks in, everyone yells "MICHA" and either claps really loud or throws whatever pot/pan/shoe is closest. So I guess if you want to personally offend an Argentine just let a cat into their house San Vicente randomly threw this massive party called "La Estudiantina" this weekend, which wa...
