Semana 11

 ¡Hooooooola amigos y familia!

Just had the fastest week so far of my mission, it was a blast! Here's what I've been up to:
  • I got to be companions for a day with my good friend Elder Figueroa, who's from the southern part of Chile and is an absolute BEAST of a missionary! We got to spend the day together so I could get some other perspectives on how to improve my Spanish and teaching skills. It was way fun! (Especially speaking Chilean Spanish for a whole day. Those of you who are familiar with Chilean Spanish know what I'm talking about)
  • My favorite experience from exchanges with Elder Figueroa was an opportunity to teach a whole town The Plan of Salvation. The town is called Amba'Y Poty; to get there, we had to take a 2 hour bus ride into the middle of the Jungle, then hike for 20 minutes to find the little village. Once we were there, all 30-ish citizens gathered around a fire as we taught them a lesson. It was one of the most humbling experiences I have ever had. The people of Amba'Y Poty live in the humblest of circumstances, yet still find joy among their struggles. It was an amazing experience to teach them about God's Plan of Happiness, as I watched them smile as they learned of the blessings the Gospel brings. A truly amazing Missionary moment
  • A few days later we had a Multi-Zone conference, where I got to see my Mission President and tons of other missionaries! My favorite part was when my Mission President's wife told me she listened to all of my music and was very surprised to learn that I did not, in fact, make Gospel Music
  • Dulce de Leche Brownie Ice cream is absolutely insane
  • I learned that Argentine busses do not mind showing Rated-R movies for 5 hours straight
  • Someone almost pulled a gun on Elder Packer and me last night; He was very relieved to learn that we were not Police officers, but was still not interested in hearing a message about the gospel
I'm having a blast down here and am so grateful for the experiences I have been having. Make sure to let me know how you're doing! Thanks for the support!
